Our son, Ben is 58 years old. He was diagnosed in 1966, when very little was known about autism, and very few people had ever even heard of it…including many doctors. Our whole family were truly pioneers in dealing with autism. My blog tells what the diagnosing procedures were back then, and what was available for an autistic child at that time. We noticed a change in his communication and behavior when he was 2 1/2 to 3 years old. This blog contains insights into 55 years of dealing with autism–it is written in the hope that it will be of help to others!
